CI Case 233
Cryonics Institute Case Report for Patient Number 233
CI patient #233 was a 61 year old female from Washington. The patient was a CI member at the time of her death.
The patient died in a hospital on the morning of October 17, 2022. Suspended animation was on standby when the patient died and they provided standby, stabilization and transport services. More details will be made available at a later date.
The patient arrived at the CI facility on October 18, 2022 at 9:55am. The patient temperature upon arrival was .5c.
The perfusion started at 10:15 am and was finished at 11:30am. SA left two canula in place, in the patient’s heart. The patient was perfused through the canula in the artery and samples were taken from the canula in the vein. A full body perfusion was done. 6.5 liters of 305EG were used and 90.5 liters of 70% VM1 were used. The final reactive index from the canula coming out of the vena cava was 1.4212. The patient temperature was -13.4c at the end of the perfusion. The perfusion pressure averaged 115mm. The average flow rate was 1.55 liters per minute.
There were no blood clots noted during the perfusion. Significant dehydration of the body, head and face was noted along with a bronzing of the skin and no edema.
The patient was then transferred to the computer controlled cooling chamber to cool to liquid nitrogen temperature. The human vitrification program was selected and the time needed to cool the patient to liquid nitrogen temperature was five days and 12 hours. The patient was then placed in a cryostat for long-term cryonic storage.
