CI Case 181
Cryonics Institute Case Report for Patient Number 181
CI patient #181 was an 85 year old male from Switzerland. The patient was not a CI member at the time of his death.
The patient died on September 23, 2019. The patient’s lawyer contacted CI and instructions were given for how to make him a patient at CI. CI referred the lawyer to CryoSuisse for help with transportation. CryoSuisse contacted Cryonics Germany, who opted to do a perfusion and then pack the patient in dry ice. A perfusion report was prepared by Cryonics Germany/The Ulm Cryonics Project and report details are confidential. After the documents necessary for transportation were obtained, the patient was sent to the CI facility.
The patient arrived at the CI facility on October 3, 2019, approximately ten days after death. There was minimal dry ice in with the patient upon his arrival, but the patient was still frozen. The patient was then placed into the computer controlled cooling chamber to cool to liquid nitrogen temperature. The patient was then placed in a cryostat for longterm cryonic storage.
