Cryonics Institute Case Report for Patient Number 261

CI patient #261 was a 72 year old male from England. The patient was not a CI member at the time of his death.  

The patient died on August 3rd, 2024.  Cryonics UK provided standby and perfusion services, and held the patient in dry ice until contract, funding and transport arrangements were made.  Once the contract, funding and transport details were worked out, the patient was flown to Michigan in dry ice. 

The patient arrived at the CI facility on August 17th at 7pm.

The patient was then transferred to the computer controlled cooling chamber to cool to liquid nitrogen temperature.  The human vitrification program was selected and the time needed to cool the patient to liquid nitrogen temperature was five days and 11 hours.  The patient was then placed in a cryostat for long-term cryonic storage.
