John Connole resigned earlier this year as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cryonics Institute, for personal reasons. We thank him again for his years of valuable service and conscientious work. He remains a CI member.
At the annual meeting on Sep. 27, the vacancy was filled. Elected was Michael H. Hart, J.D., Ph.D., a long-time CI member.
Professor Hart started his studies in mathematics, switched to law, earned the J.D., practiced law for a while, decided he liked science better, and earned a Ph.D. in astronomy. He taught astronomy and history of science at the college level for many years before retiring.
In the Seventies Prof. Hart wrote a well-received book, THE 100, a ranking and discussion of the 100 most influential people in history. An updated edition was published a few years ago. Currently he has another writing project, on which we may report later.
